FORUM Q&A
Sunday, September 20, 2009 at 3:19PM Angela's RESPONSE TO FORUM QUESTIONS:
Q: Will the original cast be in the movie?
A: Yes, but I'm still writing the movie so I'm not sure which characters will appear yet. It depends on which direction the story goes.
Q: When will the movie come out?
A: We're shooting the movie for the first 3 weeks in December. Alex Kondracke (The L-word) is directing and I'm writing and producing. It will take Alex a few months to edit the movie, then we will try to get in into some festivals and sell it for distribution. So, the movie's release depends on when and who we sell it to.
Q: Will there be more webisodes?
A: For right now, no. Unless, somebody out there reading this wants to invest in more Web Trashiness - we're kind of stalled in that department. The problem is, on-line distribution is tricky. The idea is that you would sell ads on the site and pay for the webisodes that way, but 1) the GT content was deemed too racy for most advertisers, or 2) if you do find advertisers they don't want to pay very much for the ad, and what they are willing to pay is not enough to pay for the cost of production (even with everybody working for free!!!).
So, we're trying another route to bring Girltrash! to you -- movies. Movies have an established business model and if we make the movie for a low-enough budget, we can pay back the investors and maybe make a little bit of money back to funnel back into another movie. Girltrash! has always been a labor of love for us -- if we had our druthers (sp?) -- we'd try to make one or two Girltrash! movies a year, Roger Corman-style, just keep spitting them out. I think that'd be a blast. There's endless possibilities -- Girltrash: Miami, Girltrash: European Vacation, Girltrash in Space...
However, we will be bringing you guys TONS of behind-the-scenes coverage of the filming of the movie (and maybe, if we can figure it out, a few mini-episodes on the side) in the next couple of months, so keep checking back to see what's happening.
Q: Is there a Girltrash! graphic novel?
A: Yes, I wrote a different adventure for a Girltrash! graphic novel that will be published by Three Crowns Press during the summer or fall of this year. I've been working with an artist for two years, June Kim, who has been doing incredible work on the project. I just saw the final inked drawings of the first two chapters of the graphic novel and it is AMAZING. The story is darker and more serious than the web-series -- I'm having fun telling different stories inside the Girltrash! universe. Plus, it's fun because in a comic book you don't have budget constraints. You can write the adventure as big as you want to.
The graphic novel centers around a gang war between the Amazones (Mariana's gang) and the Shady Dragon's (Min Suk's gang) and Daisy and Tyler get stuck in the middle.
That's all for now -- I gotta get back to writing, and find out what happens. I never really know until I write it down! I'll be back to answer more questions from the Forums soon.

This sounds very interesting--I'll be looking forward to it.
Thanks for the update, Angela
Thank you Angela you are the best and just to let you know Gaby has a amazing voice damn I had no idea she could sing like that.. I hope you have Milby in the movie ..It wouldn't be the same without Gaby and Mandy in it even though I like Daisy and Tyler and Rose but I watch for Milby.. Thank you again for your efforts in trying to bring this together again
Damn, Gabrielle can sing!! I knew Mandy could, but hearing Gabrielle sing was a shock- she is really good. I can't wait to hear the song in full.. Amazing!
